Criminalistics experts were recognized for their work delivered to the administration of justice

On the morning of this Tuesday, February 26, in the facilities of the Forensic Science and Forensics Laboratory, the recognition ceremony was held for the 923 experts with whom this Unit currently has throughout the country.

Within the framework of the commemoration of 81 years of professionalization and 173 years of service by the National Police, the National Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences Service delivered a public congratulation to each police server, for their hard work and performance in favor of the citizenship.

This Unit of technical-scientific investigation contributes to the administration of justice for the clarification of the crime, conformed in sections like: 3D Reconstruction; Technical Eye Inspection; Road Accidentology; Audio and Video Documentology; DNA; Legal Medicine; Photogrammetry; Intellectual property; Audit and Accounting; Fires and Explosions; Anthropology and Forensic Odontology; Toxicology; Trace Evidence; Biometric Fingerprinting Systems «AFIS», Traces and Voices «AVIS». The same ones that allow obtaining databases to discover crimes, identify missing persons and unidentified corpses.

The Criminalistics laboratory has one of the most important infrastructures in the region and has the most complete «DNA» Forensic Genetics Laboratory in Ecuador.

With this recognition, the commitment of each expert who provides his service in the laboratories throughout the territory is strengthened, to carry out his work with greater effort, responsibility and honesty, supporting shoulder to shoulder to contribute with this noble action that is to serve others .
