After 24 years of missing, woman was handed over to his family

Aracely Cruz VC, 43 years old, was located by members of the National Bureau of Crimes Against Life, Violent Deaths, disappearances, Extortion and Kidnapping (Dinased), while working as a waitress in a restaurant in the Santa Prisca, in the center of Quito, after 24 years of desarecido in El Carmen, Manabi province.
One morning in 1992 left his home accompanied by a friend, stating that they would work without specifying the place and office. From that moment he never returned, never phoned or dropped any indication of their location. His family lost contact and communication with her.
Despite the anguish and despair of their parents, they never put the complaint and because days after his girlfriend was found dead, made them think that the same fate, yet never lost hope of seeing her again alive and back at home.
Andrés Mauricio SM, a relative of the woman, the morning of October 3 this year, decided to report the case to the authorities and agents, with the support of the Unit for the Disappeared of the organization, they undertook the nationwide search and less than 24 hours located the woman in a shop in the city of Quito.
At a press conference, Oscar Puebla, officer Dinased handling the case, he said that was checked and verified all information sources of the case to timely recover the missing and advantageously, in a few hours recovery and delivery of women was achieved their families.
He noted that so far this year, 3,141 cases of disappearances have been resolved and 355 are under investigation, it shows 90% effectiveness. He further argued that the factors causing the highest number of disappearances are family, social, economic, psychological, disability and disease problems.
In an emotional meeting with his brothers and relatives, Aracely V. told the media he was 19 years old when he decided to leave home to find a job that allows them to improve their economic situation, and did not know how to communicate with their parents since he lived in a remote rural area of the country and city where it was almost no communication by any means possible.
