Specialists of the Police of Ecuador and Colombia investigate causes of the explosion in San Lorenzo

The morning of the day today arrived at the Marine Infantry Battalion of San Lorenzo, the Minister of the Interior, High Police Command and other State authorities to conduct an assessment in the Territory after the explosion caused the early morning of this Saturday, January 27 in the Police District “San Lorenzo” and that presumably would be caused by the last police operation carried out in this sector.

Interior Minister Cesar Navas and General Inspector Nelson Villegas Ubillús arrived in the San Lorenzo canton accompanied by the State Attorney General, Minister of Defense and Secretary of Risk Management to carry out strategies in the territory. The Interior Minister addressed the police and military who were concentrated before the state of emergency, stating that all the functions of the state have been articulated to the face this threat, fight in and eliminate it “Any organized crime cell that wants to enter the country will be eliminated. We are a country of pease”.

After the dialogue with the uniformed, they went to the area affected by the explosion to conduct a tour and evaluate the material damage caused.

In the place, police personnel specializing in anti-explosives from the Intervention and Rescue Group (GIR) explained technically to the authorities how the explosion occurred after the first inquiries made and subsequently made an assessment of the impact on the police infrastructure.

Likewise, the State authorities committed themselves to provide a prompt and timely solution to the homes of the families affected by the detonation in coordination with the Secretary of Risk Management and Mayor of San Lorenzo.

After the tour the State Ministers and the Police Command conducted a conversation with the media to report details of the comprehensive work after the impact of the explosion. The Minister of the Interior pointed out that the police infrastructure was insured, so the corresponding procedure will be carried out for immediate authorization.

On the other hand, the Attorney General of the State indicated that police experts in support of the Prosecutor’s Office are analyzing in the city of Quito all the indications raised at the scene of the crime and strongly stated that the law will be punished with all the rigor of the law. those responsible for the explosion as a terrorist attack.

In addition, it was reported that officials of the DIPOL (Directorate of Police Intelligence) and CIARA (Anti-explosive Information and Weapons Control Center) of the Colombian National Police collaborate with the Ecuadorian Police in the investigation of the attack.
