Prevention campaign «Yo vivo sin violencia infantil»

The National Police of Ecuador, through the National Directorate of Specialized Police in Children and Adolescents (Dinapen), runs the campaign called “YO VIVO SIN VIOLENCIA INFANTIL”, promoted by the Ministry of the Interior, as part of the government’s strategy , which seeks to guide personal, family and social prevention, in order to generate in its actions a public awareness of the effects that these different phenomena are having, specifically on sexual violence, a phenomenon that generates repudiation, because it has children as victims, girls and teenagers

It is important to highlight that the age groups most vulnerable to being victims of this phenomenon correspond 60% between 12 to 17 years of age; 38% between 0 to 11 years of age; and 2% correspond to adults, whose alleged perpetrators are adolescent offenders. The female gender that has been the victim of the incidence comprises 86% and 14% male.

The campaign «YO VIVO SIN VIOLENCIA INFANTIL», will begin this December 15 in the neighborhood of Algeria, in Quito, and will last approximately one year, in the 24 subzones of the Ecuadorian territory and the two Metropolitan Districts (Quito and Guayaquil) ; It is important to make known that the different socio-educational activities are going to be carried out in the sectors with the greatest incidence in the commission of the aforementioned crimes, based on the geo-referencing of the crime.

This prevention initiative seeks to reach all audiences (children, youth and adults), with prevention measures to inform and reduce risks; has the support and encouragement of national artists such as: Alejandra García (La Toquilla), Damiano, Fausto Miño, Major Vicente Abril, who have crystallized the recording of the song and video «Take care of children», which since this year it will be the emblem of the campaign and anthem that will identify it.

We must urge to break historical cultural structures and structures, with a firm decision to counteract that fear to denounce all kinds of events that often fall into absolute silence, which can be influenced by several factors (economic dependence, submission, sentimental, fear, threats, etc.).
