By air, land and sea strengthens security in San Lorenzo and Eloy Alfaro

From the state of emergency decreed by the National Government in the two cantons of the province of Esmeraldas, with the purpose of protecting order citizen security, the actions of the uniformed by air, land and sea, are permanent.

Admiral Jhon Merlo, Commander of the Single Command, established in the border town of San Lorenzo that has more than 40 thousand inhabitants, said that “the security in the two cantons has been reinforced to give peace to the citizens with the support of National Police and Armed Forces, preventing any situation that threatens security, is potentialized in the sector. The number of men has increased and redoubled efforts with maritime, air and land means, said the admiral.

For his part, District General Mauricio Gutierrez, General Director of Operations of the National Police of Ecuador said “We carry out operations with the support of tactical units under an intelligence assessment and an analysis of the information focusing on the trafficking of chemical precursors, explosives and drugs, in order to prevent any type of attack against public or private institutions.

The general invited the population to trust their police denouncing and reporting any anomaly, which will be handled with the reservation of the case, “citizenship is a very important source of information”.
